Bhubaneswar: The two-day online Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)-Mains conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) began today.
Around 5,000 candidates from the State appeared for the entrance examination in nine cities.
The first session of the exam started at 9:30 am and continued till 12: 30 pm while the duration of the second session was 2:30 hours that continued till 5 pm.
In the first session, engineering paper was conducted while examination for Architecture and Planning was scheduled for the second session.
Tusharkant Nath, chairman, Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) said, the examination carries minus marking for each wrong answer.
The results of the JEE Main Paper-1 will be announced on April 27. About 1.56 lakh students qualifying the JEE Main Paper-1 test will be eligible for JEE Advance Test scheduled on May 24.
The results will be announced on June 18, Nath added.
