Bhubaneswar: The BJP on Sunday alleged that the Odisha government has not framed any specific rules for implementation of National Food Security Act in the state.
“The state government has neither formed any redressal committee nor set up any district level committees to look into the grievances of the beneficiaries as per the provisions of the Act,” senior BJP leader Bijoy Mohapatra told reporters at a press briefing here.
Launching a broadside against the government, he said the ruling BJD government is used to take the credit by hijacking the Centrally-sponsored schemes and implementing them in the state as its own sponsored schemes.
“The state government refrain from such unethical practices and stop blowing its own trumpet,” Mohapatra pointed out.
Reacting to the allegation of Mohapatra, BJD spokesperson Sashi Bhusan Behera said the state BJP is working as an inspector of the Centre.
“The state government is not answerable to any queries of the state BJP. The state government will furnish its reply to the Centre if it seeks clarification on food security,” he pointed out.
