NEST held at 20 centres in State

Bhubaneswar: National Entrance and Screening Test (NEST), the qualifying entrance examination for admission into the famous National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), was held this morning.

The test, which is compulsory for admission to the 5-year integrated MSc programme in basic sciences like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology, held at 79 centres throughout the country including 20 in the State.

According to reports, the all India-level entrance test begun at 9.30 am and concluded at 1 pm. About 47,000 students from across the country appeared for the test.

Out of 20 centres at seven major towns in the State, Bhubaneswar alone has 11 centres. The city-based NISER has 100 seats on offer, the report added.
