Bhubaneswar: Eminent litterateur Manoj Kumar Panda was conferred with the prestigious Sarala Puraskar for literature for the year 2015 at a glittering ceremony in the capital city here this evening.
Panda received the award for his collection of short stories ‘Maya Bagicha’.
The award, instituted by the Indian Metals and Public Charitable Trust (IMPaCT), carries a cash award of Rs 5 lakh and citation.
Besides, Bhimsen Senapati and D Narayan Rao received the Ila Panda Smaraki Sangeet Samman and Ila Panda Smaraki Chitrakala Samman respectively with a cash award of Rs 1.5 lakh and citation each.
Eminent Hindi writer Dr Mridula Garg graced the event as the chief guest.
