Bhubaneswar: Senior BJD leader and Kendrapara MP, Baijayant Panda has joined the campaign for “Global Network for Neglected Tropical Disease” as Public Health Champion.
During the campaign, Panda will play a leading role in formulation of policies at the national level for eradication of Dengue, Malaria and Asthma in Odisha as well as the country and garner larger political support. Besides, he will be involved in creating awareness programmes about the diseases.
“India has made significant progress in tackling these diseases. With the expansion of this programme, the effect will be felt in the State and country. I feel proud of being included in the programme,” Panda said in a statement.
Notably, the Global Network for Neglected Tropical Disease has been instrumental in the successful campaign of ‘Hatipaon Mukt Bharat’ by the Health and Family Welfare Ministry for eradication of Filaria.
