Bhubaneswar: The eighteenth edition of the Kalinga Book Fair has been kicked off at the Exhibition Ground at Bhubanswar. The fair was inaugurated by Jnanapith awardee Sitakant Mohapatra.
Five new books were launched during the inaugural ceremony. The 10-day fair will also be featuring various cultural programmes presented by school children.
In an age where the youth is entangled in internet and television soaps and are losing the practice of reading and the aim of the book fair is to reinstate that habit among them, said the organizers of the fair.
Bhubaneswar Municipality Corporation Mayor Anant Narayan Jena, litterateurs Satkodi Hota, Renuka Mishra were amongst other eminent personalities present during the inaugural ceremony.
