Bhubaneswar: A five-member team of the Health and Family Welfare department yesterday raided the city-based Srushti test-tube baby centre for running without registration.
The team has sealed the ultra-sound machine, IVF machine, operation theatre and other lab rooms of the centre. Some important documents belonging to the centre also been seized by the Health department during the raid.
“Srushti test-tube baby centre is equivalent to an unregistered centre as they don’t have a valid registration to operate, so we are sealing the clinic as per the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act,” said joint Health director Ajit Kumar Mohanty.
The centre has been running since May 2011 without having a proper licence. However, its marketing manager Biraja Prasad Rai claimed that they have applied for the registration.
