Gopalpur (Ganjam): Bollywood singer Krishna Beura and his group stole the show with a scintillating song and dance performance as the curtains came down on the five-day long Gopalpur Belabhumi Mahotsav (Beach Festival) on Monday
“I thank all of you for coming here to support the artists. The festival was amazingly well organized,” said the Odisha-born Bollywood singer.
Folk song and dance performances by artists from Ganjam and Cuttack district made the evening more memorable.
Keshav Swain, who has walked into the Guinness Book of World Records with his amazing coconut breaking feat, broke an unbelievable 92 coconuts in a minute as the large audience gave him a big hand on Sunday.
Odissi and Sambalpuri dance performances presented in the evening enthralled the large crowd.
“The Gopalpur Belabhumi Mahotsav, which started in 1996 with an aim to showcase the art and culture of Ganjam district in front of the nation, is now a huge success,” gushed Higher Education minister Pradeep Panigrahi, who presided over the concluding ceremony.
Among others, MP Siddhant Mohapatra, MLAs Ramesh Chandra Chyau Patnaik, Dr Priyanshu Pradhan, Purna Chandra Sethi, Purna Chandra Swain and Srikant Sahu, district collector Premchandra Choudhury, DRDA PD Ashish Thakre and Ganjam SP Sarthak Sarangi were also present on the occasion.
