Court grants conditional parole to Raja Acharya
Bhubaneswar: Raja Acharya, the convict in the sensational murder case of Judo coach Biranchi Das, has been granted conditional parole to attend his mother’s obsequies.
Acharya, who is serving a death sentence, has been released on parole on a bond of Rs 5 lakh and two sureties.
According to the court’s order, Acharya will be accompanied by an inspector-rank officer during his parole.
After the death of his mother on April 12, Acharya had approached the Orissa High Court seeking parole to take part in his mother’s last rites.
