Dhenkanal: In a tragic accident at Satamile area of Hindol in Dhenkanal two were killed after a bus hit an auto rickshaw carrying school students on Tuesday.
As per reports, the auto driver and a school children in the auto rickshaw were among the deceased.
Meanwhile, nine other children were also critically injured in the accident and have been rushed to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
The treatment of the nine injured children has begun at the SCB Medical College and Hospital has begun.
The doctors have conducted CT scan of these children.
“All the nine children admitted to the hospital have sustained multiple injuries while the condition of the two children is critical. A team of doctors of surgery, neurosurgery, casualty are engaged in the free treatment of these children as directed by the state administration,” Dr Bhubanananda Maharana, Emergency officer of the hospital informed the media.
According to sources, the incident occurred when the auto rickshaw was taking the students back to their home from school, had a head on collision with a speeding bus. As a result the auto driver and the child sitting in the front seat with the driver died on spot.
Following the incident the irate locals staged road blockade.
