CM directs revival of canals amid deficient rainfall
Bhubaneswar: Keeping in mind deficient rainfall in various district, Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik today directed the irrigation department to revive the canals in Puri and Jagatsinghpur districts which have received the least rainfall.
Moreover, Patnaik has also ordered to repair all the defunct lift irrigation points while along reviewing the crop and rainfall situation in the State today. The meeting also decided to provide seeds for paddy, pulses and others with low harvesting time.
Notably, the State has received 6 % deficient rainfall so far this year.
