Bhubaneswar: Cabinet Committee Investment (CCI) Project Monitoring Group led by Joint Secretary of Union Cabinet Secretariat, VP Roy on Monday reviewed the progress of the ongoing mega projects in Odisha at a high level meeting presided over by chief secretary GC Pati at the State Secretariat here.
A total number of 34 projects in railway, national highway, steel & mines and power sector were reviewed.
It was revealed in the meeting that the issues relating to land acquisition and forest diversion proposals have made significant progress in many projects.
The chief secretary advised the project developers to expedite implementation of the projects. He also asked the district administrations to provide all support in the event of law and order situations. Besides, the project proponents were asked to expeditiously implement the agreed decisions on Rehabilitation and CSR activities.
Briefing the media persons after the meeting, Roy said significant improvement has taken place in progress of the projects.
“Many of the bottlenecks relating to land and forest diversion proposals have been removed and the projects have been put to first track”, he informed.
The meeting discussed about the major projects which include Bhubaneswar-Puri NH, Angul-Sambalpur toll road project, Cuttack-Angul toll road project, Biramitrapur-Barkot Highway, Panikoili-Rimuli Highway, IOCL project for Paradip-Durgapur LPG pipeline, IOCL pipe line project from Paradeep to Ranchi, MCL coal mines, Natraj underground mines, Hingula mines, Angul-Jharsuguda Railway line, Visa Power Ltd, Sahara India Power Corporation thermal power plant in Bolangir district, PKTCL-Purtia Kharagpur transmission line, Monnet Power, Tentulei Thermal Power project of NSL, Lanco Babandh Power Ltd, Odisha Ultra Mega Power Project, KVK Nilachal Power Ltd, GMR Energy, Jindal Stainless Steel, Visa Steel etc.
