Bhubaneswar: In a bid to help aspirants score better in the competitive entrance examinations, the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) has decided to implement CBSE pattern syllabi in Plus Two stream from the next academic session.
Official source said the syllabi have been designed keeping in mind the entrance tests which the students face soon after the Board test.
“We had asked our syllabus committees on different subjects to prepare syllabi in line with CBSE syllabi so that our students are better prepared to face all India entrance examinations. We got the syllabi ratified by the academic committee at today’s meeting. Chairpersons of all syllabus committees are members of our academic committee; this apart the committee has five more members. Accordingly new text books will be prepared. The new syllabi will be applicable from the next academic year,” informed Basudeb Chhatoi, chairman CHSE to reporters here.
The decision in this regard was taken at the CHSE headquarters here.
While the new syllabi focuses on objective pattern as in CBSE syllabi, a decision was also taken to bring changes in the existing examination pattern, the official revealed.
The decision was taken with an objective to better performances of students from Odisha in the all India entrance examinations, the official added.
