Jajpur: A 21-year-old youth and an 18-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a train at Chheliapada between Haridaspur and Gadamadhupur Railway stations in Odisha’s Jajpur district.
The bodies of the youth and the girl, both from Natua village under Dharmasala police station limits, were found on the railway tracks yesterday, railway police said.
Inspector in-charge of Dharmasala police station said parents of both the man and the girl had refused to accept their relationship and the girl’s parents were looking for a groom. The girl, however, stuck to her decision and her family refused to concede to her wishes.
On the other hand, boy?s family was also refusing to accept the girl as their daughter-in-law, he said.
The lovers finally made their mind to commit suicide unitedly and jumped in front of a train.
Finding the bodies on railway tracks, the locals informed the railway police who rushed to the spot.
