Bhubaneswar: Post general 2014 elections, more than prime minster Narendra Modi’s appeal, it seems the BJP at the Centre is relying on union minister Dharmendra Pradhan to regain its electoral base, particularly the traditional vote bank. This is widely observed after Pradhan is seen not only at almost all the inaugural functions of several projects in the State, but his presence in the hoardings depicting the Centre’s role in Odisha’s progress.
Be it the flagging–off ceremony of international flight from the city capital or the public dedication event of four-laning of Bhubaneswar-Puri National Highway, Pradhan is seen with other leaders representing more from the Centre, less from the State.
Though his presence remotely sends the Centre’s signal that Pradhan is going to be head the saffron party’s frontline ledership in the days to come, political analysts believe this would be a tough challenge for the young leader given that he has to reach the young mass at the grassroots level.
More so, Pradhan’s aggressiveness to shield the Centre in all the cases is laudable, whenever Odisha government attaches Centre with its perennial ‘negligence’ tag.
