BJP reiterates judicial probe into ‘Brahma’ fiasco

Bhubaneswar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today reiterated its demand that a judicial probe must be ordered into the gross mismanagement during ‘Brahma Paribartan’ of the deities by the daitapatis in Puri.

Addressing a gathering at Gadakhuntania village on the outskirt of capital city here on the sidelines of the culmination ceremony of its Jagannath Sanskruti Yatra, the leaders asserted that the State government should come clean by ordering for a judicial inquiry into the matter.

“If there was nothing wrong in the Brahma Paribartan of the Trinity, why the State government is not coming forward to declare for a judicial probe?” party’s State unit president KV Singhdeo said.

Party leader Bijoy Mohaparta too echoed a similar voice. “Since the State government has failed to do justice with the religious sentiments of the people of Odisha we are declaring a ‘dharma yudhya’ against the party.

The devotees of lord Jagannath are with us and let it face us.” To mark the occasion, the party workers planted neem tress at the place which few days ago shot into fame following the trace of Lord Sudarsan’s daru (holy wood).
