Bhubaneswar: Braving torrential rain, thousands of cricket lovers in the capital city gathered near Hotel Mayfair to have a glimpse of the players of the Team India and South Africa after they arrived here on Saturday evening to play the second T20 match at Barabati stadium in Cuttack.
Both the teams were accorded warm welcome after they arrived at Biju Patnaik International Airport at about 5 PM.
From the airport, both the teams were escorted to Hotel Mayfair by the security personnel.
After arriving at the hotel, the hotel staff welcomed the players with garlands and flower bouquets.
As per the schedule, the two teams would leave for Cuttack for net practice at Barabati stadium on Sunday and return to the hotel later in the day amid tight security.
The match will be played at 7.30 PM on Monday.
Meanwhile, sources in the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) said all the 13,000 tickets for the general spectators have been exhausted with the sale of the remaining 650 tickets which were sold out in an hour by 9 am on Saturday at the Barabati Stadium counter.
