Nimapara/Cuttack: The court of Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) on Monday remanded the accused couple, involved in the quadruple murder of a retired DI of Schools, Dinabandhu Mallick, his wife and two daughters at Dinadiyan village of Astarang block in Puri district, to Nimapara sub jail.
The Crime Branch police produced Himadri alias Rahim and his wife Ayesha in the court after their six-day remand ended on Monday.
But as the state investigating agency did not apply for a fresh remand, the court remanded the couple to the judicial custody.
“We have got everything we wanted. We have all the facts and evidence against the arrested couple who had sold out the ornaments they had collected after the murder of Dinabandhu and his three family members. We have seized about 30 grams of melted ornaments from the goldsmith who had purchased from the couple. The goldsmith has identified the couple. I hope the acccused couple would be dealt with harsh punishment”, Crime Branch ADS BK Sharma told the media persons at the Crime Branch headquarters office in Cuttack.
Notably, the retired DI of schools Dinabandhu Mallick, his wife Nirmala and daughters Pranati (11) and Saswati (4) were found in a pool of blood in their house on September 22.
