Bhubaneswar: It’s good news for the passengers willing to board overseas flights from the Odisha capital as the Air India introduced more international connectivity flights from the Biju Patnaik International Airport in the city to New Delhi from Sunday.
As per the schedule, AI-077 flight left from New Delhi at 7.05 AM and arrived at Bhubaneswar at 9.15 AM. The same flight left Bhubaneswar as AI-078 for New Delhi at 10.15 AM.
Similarly another international connectivity flight AI-075 from New Delhi arrived in Bhubaneswar at 1.15 PM and left for New Delhi as AI-076 at 2.15 PM.
The overseas passengers from Bhubaneswar were facilitated with customs and immigration clearance at the airport, Biju Patnaik International Airport director Sharad Kumar said.
It is worthwhile here to mention that the Biju Patnaik Airport was accorded international airport status on October 30, 2013 while the first scheduled international fight had begun from Bhubaneswar to New Delhi on July 10 this year.
Meanwhile, the state government is having talks with the Air Asia authorities for resumption of direct flight to overseas countries. However, no concrete results have emerged so far.
