Bhubaneswar: The State’s School and Mass Education department felicitated 95 teachers on the occasion Teacher’s Day today in a function here.
Chief minister Naveen Patnaik honoured 50 teacher for 2013 and 45 for 2014 at the event.
Besides, the government announced some measures to improve educational condition. On the lines of Kendriya Vidyalaya English-medium Odisha Model School will be opened in every block. As many as 45,000 teachers have been trained to improve quality of education.
B.Ed. course will be provided at 24 government colleges and universities in collaboration between Higher Education and Mass Education departments.
Among others, Mass Education minister Debi Prasad Mishra and secretary Ranjana Chopra were present in the function.
