Bhubaneswar: As per the decision of the inter-ministerial committee held here on Thursday, the Odisha government has brought 399 high schools under the block grant purview as per a notification by the School and Mass Education department on Friday.
Besides, 39 Madhyama schools (Sanskrit toll) have also been brought under the grant-in-aid (GIA) policy.
These schools will receive the grants with effect from October 1.
“A total of 5074 school teachers and staff would be benefited as the state government would provide 40 percent grant. The state government would bear an additional expenditure of Rs 25 crore per year,” School and Mass Education minister Debi Prasad Mishra told the media.
