Malkangiri: Three days after busting a Maoist camp in Nuapada district in which as many as 700 detonators were seized, security forces today arrested ten extremists from Chintalanar area of Sukma district along Odisha-Chhattisgarh border.
According to reports the Maoists were hiding in the area and acting on a tip off a combing operation was launched by CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action) and DVF (District Voluntary Force) personnel.
Reports added there was an exchange of fire between the security personnel and the Maoists.
On Saturday the security forces had busted a Maoist camp and seized huge cache of explosives during a combing operation in Patadaraha reserve forest of Nuapada district.
As many as, 689 detonators,10 tiffin bombs, one revolver and some Maoist literature were seized by CRPF, SOG, DVF personnel during the operation.
Earlier in February this year explosives were seized during a combing exercise by CoBRA personnel from Pon Dungri nullah near Gatibeda village under Sunabeda gram panchayat inside Sunabeda sanctuary.
The seizure included 120 detonators, 37 gelatin sticks and 20 pencil batteries.
