Bhubanweswar: About a month after Niranjan Patnaik took over the party reins in the state, Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) is likely to have new office bearers soon with posts of working president set to be abolished.

This was stated by and AICC`s Odisha-in-charge Jagdish Tytler who held discussions on the issue with senior party leaders during his visit here on Sunday.

There would be no working president and efforts would be to give opportunity to youngsters endowed with talents, capability and efficiency, Tytler told reporters.

The senior Congress leader said he had already discussed the matter relating to reconstitution of the OPCC with several party leaders in New Delhi.

Further discussion was held with a host of senior Congress leaders on the selection of new office bearers in order to rejuvenate the party to enable it to take on the ruling BJD, the former union minister said.

While senior party leader Niranjan Patnaik was made the PCC president about a month ago new office bearers and others in the committee are yet to be named.

Describing the visit of Congress leader Rahul to Odisha recently as a success, Tytler said partymen had shown enthusiasm during the young leader`s visit which gave them considerable inspiration.
