Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government is committed to empowering Odisha, said Chief minister Naveen Patnaik, as the government entered into the fifth year of his fourth term here on Monday.

While highlighting 10 major achievements of the government, Patnaik thanked four crore people of the State for the tremendous faith they have reposed on the BJD government and its commitment and capabilities of working towards an empowered Odisha.

Stressing that 3 Ts- transparency, team work and technology are the 'mantras' of success of his government, Patnaik urged the leaders of the party and officials to work hard every minute with 3 D's - Determination, Dedication and Devotion.

"Be it the land rights to slum dwellers or the rural road connectivity, Odisha government has been working towards all round development of the State," said Patnaik at a press conference after the meeting of Council of Ministers.

Patnaik informed that Odisha is leading State in the country in Skilled Development programme as 9 lakh youths have been imparted training against the target of 11 lakh.

Besides, four medical colleges have been set up from among the proposed nine, Special Tribal Development Councils come up in nine districts, 70 lakh women empowered through various self help groups and nearly 30 lakh women covered under the Mamata Yojana.

Odisha is fast becoming a major sports hub with several international events being hosted at Bhubaneswar, Patnaik added.
