Bhubaneswar: With 2019 elections round the corner, Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) on Monday tried to resolve the differences among party members in a marathon meeting held at the State party headquarters in Bhubaneswar today in presence of the party's state in-charge Jitendra Singh.

After the coordination meeting, working president Naba Kishore Das said that differences are bound to be there among several members of a family and without those conflicting views, the house cannot be made strong.

Another party working president Pradeep Majhi also said that the differences among the party members have been resolved and all are now working for the party.

“We are now focusing on the strategies that we need to have to strengthen the party before the upcoming elections,” said Majhi.

Meanwhile, Congress MLAs Tara Prasad Bahinipati and Krishna Sagaria, who were at loggerheads, claimed that all differences and confusion have been sorted out and they will now work towards strengthening the party.

While Bahinipati said that they don’t have any hard feelings for each other, Sagaria said that no matter how big the differences are, they are united and will work for the party’s development.

Speaking on the party’s blueprint for the upcoming polls, OPCC chief Niranjan Patnaik said that the party is in the process of chalking out strategies for 2019 elections.

"We are planning to deploy 30 party workers in all the 30 districts or at least in all the Lok Sabha seats. A final call in this regard will be taken in the party's coordination meeting," said Patnaik.

On the other hand, Naba Das today informed that AICC President Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to visit Odisha in August and is expected to meet party activists at grassroots level and also other senior leaders.
