Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet will meet for the first time after the Cabinet reshuffle on Tuesday.  Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik would preside over  the meeting.


The six new Cabinet Ministers Anjali Behera, Niranjan Pujari, Pradeep Maharathy, Maheswar Mohanty and Lal Bihari Himrika would also attend the meeting.

The Cabinet is likely to discuss on 17 agendas including the proposed Odisha Issue and restriction of caste certificate bill relating to SC, ST and Backward Classes people. The Cabinet also hopes to introduce the draft in the Assembly in the monsoon session.

According to proposed bill, the Government would withdraw the power vested with the MPs and MLAs to issue caste certificate. Whereas, the tehsildar and the Sub-Collectors would only be authorised to issue the caste certificate. In case of fake issue of caste certificate, the proposed bill envisages, two year of imprisonment and Rs.20, 000 fine.

The Cabinet among others would discuss the proposal by the School and Mass Education Department to provide grant in –aid to the Madras’s, proposal for creation of separate department of Small, Micro and Medium enterprises, amendment on the Odisha State litigation policy, and on the proposal to waive Rs.130 crore to loss making Odisha Rural Cooperative Housing Development Corporation.
