Bhubaneswar: JK Mohanty from Odisha has been adjudged as the best umpire for the year 2015 by the Singapore Cricket Association.

A native of Bhubaneswar, Mohanty started umpiring for the first time in the Singapore Local League Tournament in 2008. Later, he was selected as an umpire for the ICC Cricket League Division-IV in 2014 and a bilateral series between Qatar and Singapore in 2015.

Besides, he was also in the ICC Under-19 Elite Umpire list in 2015.
