Bhubaneswar: Biraja Prasad, a 1998-batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer from Odisha, has been appointed as the next ambassador of India to the Republic of Tajikistan. The Ministry of External Affairs issued a release in this regard on Thursday.

Notably, Prasad is the youngest IFS officer to be appointed as India’s ambassador to any country.

Currently, Prasad is working as the counsellor (Political) at the Indian Embassy in Moscow. He has worked as the deputy chief of mission at Indian embassy in Madrid, Italy.
