Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and chief secretary BK Patnaik have asked the Rayagada district collector to rescue all children from unauthorized orphanages of the district. The order follows the rescue of 36 under-18yr old girls in a raid by district child welfare samiti  on July 28.

Earlier on June 26 as many as 19 children from the state were rescued from illegal confinement from a children`s home in Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu. The development came five days after the rescue of 18 kids from Kanyakumari district in the south Indian state, raising the total number of those saved so far to 37.
