Bhubaneshwar: Narayana Hrudayalaya Hospitals, one of the advanced heart hospitals in the country, would set up a 1,000-bed cardiac medical facility here.

"It's my great pleasure that one of the best and most advanced heart hospitals will be coming up in the city of Bhubaneshwar", chief minister Naveen Patnaik said while laying its foundation stone of the hospital on Sunday.

Stating that construction of the hospital in Odisha was a significant step to bring quality and affordable healthcare for people from various socio-economic strata, he said the hospital was known for providing affordable quality healthcare to the masses.

"I am sure their service will make a difference to a large number of people in Odisha", Patnaik said.

Built with support from the state government, the project which would take around 24 months to complete generate direct and indirect employment apart from enhancing the value in the development of neighborhood areas.

Chairman of the hospital group Devi Prasad Shetty said the Bhubaneswar unit would be a world-class hospital providing tertiary level services in all aspects of health care.

The group has 14 hospitals across 11 Indian cities with total bed strength of 5700 beds.
