Rourkela: A joint team of Rourkela Police and security forces busted a Maoist camp inside Champajharan forest under Chandiposh police limits near Rourkela and recovered a huge cache of ammunition.

Talking to media persons, DIG Kavita Jalan said, "After getting intelligence inputs late yesterday night about a Maoist meeting, an Alpha-19 company comprising District Voluntary Force (DVF), Special Operations Group (SOG) and CRPF personnel under the direct supervision of the SP, raided the Champajharan forest and seized a huge cache of Maoist items including uniforms, four tiffin bombs, 21 codex wire bundles, and two electric wire bundles."

Fearing face-off with cops, sources said as many as 20 to 25 Maoists including the area commanders of Sundergarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh who were present in the area fled the spot.

"As and when we get any information on Maoist movements, we track them," said Rourkela SP Umashankar Dash.
