Bolangir: The irate members of Lower Suktel Action Committee
(LSAC) on Saturday locked the office of district Collector demanding that a representative
of Government would come to discuss with the committee about the project and the
key issue of rehabilitation.

The office will remain locked for an indefinite period until
their demand is fulfilled, the LSAC sources said.

Even as the ultimatum of 72-hour fixed by the committee
completed with the agitation entering 20 days, no official from the Government
side has come forward to discuss the matter. According to sources, the Additional
Collector as a representative of Government yesterday suggested the agitators that
the LSAC would depute a team of representative to the office of secretary of Water
Resources Department for discussion about their key issues.

However, the committee turned down the proposal saying a
senior official from government side should visit Bolangir to discuss with
them. It may be noted that the Government declared earlier to begin the
construction work from September 27.
