Bhubaneswar: The low pressure over south-west Bay of Bengal near Tamil Nadu and Srilanka coast is likely to turn into a depression today and hit Andra and Tamilnadu coast.

Under its influence, rain and thurndershowers may occur at some places of Odisha, Met department said. Similalry, parts of interior Odisha may experience cold and dense fog.

Anaother low pressure line which was visible over Andaman sea is likely to turn into a low pressure area.

The gopvernment has put the collectors on alert over probable rains due to low pressure. They have been directed to shift paddy from the mandis, SRC Pradipta Mohapatra said.

" Mainly coastl districts are likely to be affected. The farmers are advised to cover up the paddy", Mohapatra added.
