Lady traffic cop misbehaved with in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Twin city police today arrested a man for allegedly misbehaving with a lady traffic constable in the city.

Sources said one Susant Naik, was caught by a lady traffic constable for violating traffic rules near Kharavel Nagar traffic post.

When the lady cop asked Naik to follow traffic rules, the latter protested and abused the police constable. Moreover, as per a complaint lodged by the lady cop, the accused also touched her several times.

After a complaint was lodged at Kharavel Nagar police station, the accused was apprehended. Sources informed that preliminary investigations suggest the accused is a member of the BJP.

“We have arrested the accused on charges of assaulting, misbehaving with the constable and a case has been registered against him under 332, 353, 323 and 354 sections of the IPC,” said Bhubaneswar DCP, Anup Sahu.
