Bhubaneswar: Chandradhwaja Sahoo, the man who had brought land grabbing allegations against KIIT, on Thursday threatened to self immolate along with his family if the administration fails to resolve his grievances within seven days.

At a presser, Sahoo alleged that despite completion of demarcation, KIIT founder Achyuta Samanta using his political clout has forcibly constructed a multi-storeyed building on his land.

"Despite moving from pillar to post, my pleas have been neglected. Seeking justice, I had even knocked the doors of Police IIC and Commissioner. Despite having a stay order of Orissa High Court, illegal construction on my land is still continuing," alleged Sahoo.

Sahoo further alleged that KIIT authorities threatened him with life and when media tried to bring such irregularities to limelight, they were also not spared and manhandled by goons during coverage.

"I want to make it clear that if the government does not listen to my grievances, I will commit suicide in front of the official residence of the chief minister," Sahoo said at a presser here today.

Earlier on June 30, some security guards, hired goons and PROs of KIIT attacked OTV team while covering news on allegations of land grab by the institution authorities brought by Chandradhwaja Sahoo.

It is pertinent to mention here that mobile phones and cameras were snatched while OTV reporter and video journalist were also assaulted and manhandled  in presence of senior officials of Commissionerate Police.
