Bhubaneswar: Pranav Goyal from Roorkee zone secured All India Rank 1 in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2018, the results of which were announced on Sunday. Odisha's Sarthak Behera and Debajyoti Kar have secured 4th and 5th rank in IIT Kharagpur zone.

Meenal Parakh from Delhi is the topper among girls while KVR Hemant Kumar Chodipilli from IIT-Kharagpur region was placed in the rank seven, official sources said.

The results of JEE Advanced 2018 were announced by IIT Kanpur at 10 am today.

Official sources said, nearly 1,55,158 candidates appeared in both paper 1 and 2 in the JEE (Advanced) 2018 while 18,138 candidates have qualified in the examination.

The examination for admission to the IITs was held on May 20. This year, 11,279 seats are on offer at 23 IITs across the country.
