Bhubaneswar/Cuttack: The results of the annual High School Certificate (HSC) examinations will be declared in the first week of May.

“The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) has informed that online evaluation of HSC examination papers was concluded today and the results would be tentatively announced in the first week of May,” School and Mass Education minister Debi Prasad Mishra told media persons in Bhubaneswar today.

Talking to OTV, BSE president Prof Dakshya Prasad Nanda said the evaluation had begun on March 11 at 67 evaluation centres in which about 16,000 teachers were engaged.

He said the Board, for the first time, had made arrangements to send the papers evaluated online to the result processing firms for which data entry operators were engaged in each evaluation centre.

“Besides, the Board had engaged one chief examiner and three deputy chief examiners in each evaluation centre while steps were taken for error-free evaluation,” he added.

As many as 6,01,348 students had appeared in the examinations in 2,882 centres in the state.

The examinations had begun on February 22 and concluded on March 4.
