Bhubaneswar: Cutting across party lines, members in the State Legislative Assembly today expressed concern over less Odia youth getting job in IT companies in the State.

Opposition Congress member Naba Das demanded information from the government on number of companies existed and the number of Odias working there.

Responding to it, Tourism minister Ashok Panda, speaking in absence of the IT minister, said there are 108 software companies in the State. As many as 13,384 people are doing job in these companies, out of which 9849 are Odias.

The government has planned to set an IT hub in the State by 2020 and accordingly plan is on afoot for establishment of six software technology parks in Odisha, Panda added.

Four such parks are already there in the State including one each in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela.
