Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police today sent another summons to Mumbai-based airhostess Chitra Athwani in connection with her link with Deccan Chronicle group vice-chairman and accused P.K. Iyer.

Athwani neither deposed before the police nor responded to the June 16 summon issued by the police. According to police sources, the summons was issued at Athwani’s Darbhanga address in Bihar.

Police commissioner R.P. Sharma said since the summons expired yesterday, another one has been sent to Athwani asking her to depose within a fortnight. He added that if she fails to depose this time too, an arrest warrant will be issued against her.

Athwani’s link with Iyer came to fore after his arrest in a midnight soup on June 7 from a room in city-based five-star hotel Trident booked in her name. Preliminary investigations have revealed that both Athwani and Iyer had stayed together in the hotel for 10 days.

Later, Athwani booked another room in the hotel in her name and left the city. But Iyer continued to stay in that room till his arrest.
