Bhubaneswar: Global Initiative for Restructuring Environment & Management (GIREM) on Saturday signed an MoU with Bhubaneswar Development Athority (BDA) to showcase the potential of Bhubaneswar and create a favourable image among the investor community, as one of the most preferred business destinations in India.
 
Pitabasa Sahoo, Member, Town & Regional Planning, BDA signed the MoU on behalf of BDA while Shyam Sundar S Pani, President, GIREM signed for GIREM in the presence of Odisha's Housing & Urban Development Minister Debi Prasad Mishra.
 
The MoU aims to attract investments, build a strong and vibrant economy, create great employment opportunities and raise income of all sections through skill up-gradation so as to improve the quality of life of the people of Bhubaneswar.
 
It also seeks to promote city of Bhubaneswar as one of the most preferred Business Destinations and to prepare a consensus-based visionary development strategy for the future of Bhubaneswar. Salient Features of the MoU include identifying and creating eco-socio-econmic hubs in  Bhubaneswar for creating economic and social activity, designing integrated township South City in Bhubanehswar, developing Future Economic zone on the stretch between Cuttack and Bhubaneswar City and promoting & marketing of the hubs and city as a whole.
 
"This MoU is based on the mutual desire to promote Bhubaneswar by creating a sustainable business eco systems and social infrastructure through private sector participation.The MoU also aims to derive the fullest benefit of the changing economic environment to create 100,000 IT Jobs in the next 7 years," said GIREM President Pani.
 
"Bhubaneswar, as a city, has many inherent and advantages - 2nd planned city and amongst the fastest growing cities in the country, low level of pollution, a major centre for health care and higher education etc. Through this partnership with GIREM, we aim at building upon these advantages to make Bhubaneswar a leading investment destination for services sector in the country," Vishal K Dev, BDA Vice Chairman.
