Gangster Tito sent to jail after rejection of bail plea
Cuttack: Gangster Tito alias Syed Usman Ali was sent to judicial custody on Tuesday evening after the Kendrapara Sub divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court rejected his bail plea.
Police on Tuesday arrested Tito after he was discharged from the SCB Medical College and Hospital where he was undergoing treatment and produced him before the judicial magistrate court amid tight security. The gangster had sustained bullet injuries on his left leg in a police encounter near Chandikhole on June 30.
Sources said the court is likely to hear a police plea on remand of Tito today. Crime Branch SP PK Bhoi said, “As Tito’s remand plea has been moved in the court, a verdict in this regard is awaited.”
More than 100 cases including murder, tender fixing, and other crimes are pending against Tito in different police stations of the State. He was also allegedly involved in the attack on terror suspect Abdur Rehman’s brother at Jagatpur in Cuttack.
