Kalpana Dash scales Mt Aconcagua
Bhubaneswar/ Dhenkanal: Kaplana Dash, the first Odia woman Everest mountaineer has added another feather to her cap scaling Mount Aconcagua, the second highest mountain peak of the world located in the Andes range of Argentina, on January 16.
She is the only woman who went to participate in a mountaineering camp in Mendoza of Argentina along with 13 others came from different parts of the world.
Dash, who was previously praised by one and all for her daring act, hoisted a flag of Lord Jagatnnath of Srimandir, Puri on the peak after climbing the mountain.
Kalpana, who returned to New Delhi on Sunday, said: “she took 12 days and walked 13km daily to achieve this new feet which left her with a fractured right foot”.
