Bhubaneswar: After months of preparation, the e-evaluation of Plus-II examination answer sheets was marked by a choppy start.

The evaluation of answer sheets, which began yesterday, experienced technical snags which affected the smooth functioning of the process.

Power interruption, problems in internet connectivity and passwords affected the evaluation process in Khurdha, Sambalpur, Balasore and Berhampur, where evaluation could not be conducted on the first day.

Moreover, staff shortage on account of teachers stay on leave citing medical reasons has also emerged as a roadblock, raising doubt on the effective implementation of the process which is being carried out on a experimental basis for the science stream only.

Examiners have also expressed their dissatisfaction on the new format of evaluation citing that adequate training has not been provided to them. Meanwhile, concerned authorities have informed that adequate steps will be taken to address the problems in order to ensure smooth functioning of the process.
