Bargarh: With the onset of winter, the city is excited to witness the world’s biggest open air theatre, Dhanu Yatra which is all set to begin today here. The 11-day long festival will continue till January 5, 2015.

All the preparation for the festival has been ended and the actors have completed their rehearsals. A stage of 125 foot width and 60 foot height has been constructed this year by more than 50 carpenters to celebrate the grand festival.

The locals also decorated Bargarh town as Mathurapuri, the capital city of king Kansa, while Ambapalli has been decked up as Gopapur, where Lord Krishna will spend his childhood. Meanwhile, the boundaries of houses have been painted with images displaying lord Krushna and his various activities during Dwapara Yuga.

As part of the drama, the tyrant king Kansa will wear the throne after the inaugural ceremony which will mark the start of biggest theatre, sources said.
