Bhubaneswar: Hours after the resignation of Raghunath Mohanty from the council of minister, CM Naveen Patnaik assigned additional portfolios held by Mohanty among other ministers and sent it to the Governor for approval on Friday.
 
Additional charge of Housing and Urban Development was given to Agriculture Minister Devi Mishra while Tourism Minister Maheswar Mohanty will hold Law department. Similarly, Food and Civil Supply minister Pratap Keshari Dev was given IT portfolio as an additional responsibility.
 
The decision was taken by CM Naveen Patnaik after Basta MLA Raghunath, who held all these portfolios, stepped down after being accused of torturing his daughter-in-law for dowry. The ex-minister landed in soup when a case of dowry torture was lodged against him at Balasore town Police station.
