Bhubaneswar: Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare minister Sanjay Dasburma on Saturday lambasted the media for highlighting the Pajero issue at a time when the whole State was reeling under severe drought conditions.

During an informal chat with newsmen at Puri, the minister targeted the media, OTV in particular, for ignoring the Budget session of State Assembly and broadcasting the matter involving him.

“Entire media was running behind the Pajero issue even though the state was reeling under a severe drought situation. OTV did not care about the Rs 90,000 crore Budget and highlighted the Rs 20 lakh Pajero issue. In its prime time bulletin on Budget day, the channel telecast the Pajero issue for 12 long minutes,” Dasburma grumbled.

Asked about his interest in the upcoming Rajya Sabha polls, the Brahmagiri legislator maintained that he is worried about CBI’s charge sheet on Artha Tatwa (AT) chief Pradeep Sethy, who had reportedly gifted a Pajero to the minister during last Assembly polls in 2014.

“I am not interested in a Rajya Sabha seat. Rather I am eagerly waiting for the final charge sheet against Pradeep Sethy. Now I am in a hanging position and desperately waiting for that only,” he said.

Opposition Congress and BJP have been repeatedly disrupting proceedings in the Assembly demanding the resignation of Dasburma over his alleged links with the AT group.
