Bhubaneswar: The state Crime Branch police seized 26 bank accounts of Seashore Group following a report from the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) of the Ministry of Finance on February 29, 2012.

The report had sought investigation about the suspicious transaction of Seashore Securities Limited and Seashore Agricultural Promotion Company Pvt Ltd, the sister units of Seashore Group and its owner Prashant Kumar Dash.

An investigation reveals that since 2008, Rs 14.47 crore was transacted through a current account of Seashore Securities Ltd at Axis Bank, Bhubaneswar Branch. Similarly Seashore Agricultural Promotion Company had transacted Rs 17.96 crore from a separate account of the same branch since 2010.

The investigation also shows that Rs 4.47cr has been transacted through a current bank account of Seashore Securities Ltd at Axis Bank’s Rasulgarh, Bomikhal branch since February 2011.

In its report, FIU has also raised suspicion over the transaction of the group’s bank accounts in several other major towns of the state.

According to information available, while nearly Rs 4.86 cr has been transacted through Axis bank’s Mumbai Lokhandwala branch by Seashore Securities Ltd in past one and half year, in Jharkhand’s Chainbasa branch the company transacted Rs 1.70cr in past one year.
