Eyewitnesses said, the husband and wife were found murdered in their house while the body of another woman was lying in a pool of blood in front of the couple’s house in lane number four of the area.

The couple has been identified as Kalia Sahu and Sukanti Sahu who were staying in the area for last couple of years.

The reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained.

“We are examining the murder mystery from all possible angles. Prima facie it seems to be a family dispute. A team has been formed to investigate the matter,” Police Commissioner RP Sharma said.

In October last, a similar incident rocked the capital city when an unidentified man allegedly hacked three persons to death, including a doctor, at Khandagiri Vihar on the outskirts of the city.

The alleged accused entered the house of Dr Atulya Chandra Meher, an Orthopaedic surgeon, and proceeded to the servant’s quarter behind the residence, where caretaker Prashant Behera, used to reside with his family.

After being grievously attacked by the miscreant, Prashant, his son and Meher died on the spot.
