Couple among 3 dead; 3 injured as ambulance hits truck

Balasore: In a fatal road accident, a couple and one of their relatives died when the ambulance in which they were travelling in rammed into a stationary truck near Simulia on NH-5 in the wee hours of Tuesday.

Three more persons injured severely in the incident have been shifted to Bhadrak district headquarters hospital for treatment. Sources said, all of them belong to Medinipur area in West Bengal.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred when the Medinipur-bound ambulance from Bhubaneswar hit a stationary truck from behind near Simulia. The collision was so severe that it left three dead on the spot and three injured.

Police have reached the spot and begun investigation.
