Cuttack: Commissionerate police on Tuesday made an appeal before the court of Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) to shift the Dhalasamant brothers from Choudwar Circle Jail to other jails in the state for security reasons.
The police has decided to lodge the two brothers separately in the Jajpur and Balangir district jails, sources said.
While Sushant is presently lodged in Ward no-3 of Cell no-2, his younger brother Sushil is lodged in Ward no-5 of Cell no-3.
During interrogation of the Dhalasamant brothers on the murder of their two associates Om and Dipu, police had found another clue after it seized a white Mahindra Scorpio SUV from the College Square area here on Monday. Police has come to know that the seized SUV was used to carry the bodies of the two associates to Jharkhand.
In another incident, the Chauliaganj police on Monday had arrested Antaryami Sahu, another associate of the Dhalasamant brothers, on the charge of extortion. Sahu, who was absconding for a long time, has several cases of attempt to murder and threat to murder pending against his name.
The investigation has also revealed that Sahu is the brother of a corporator of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC).
In the meanwhile, the Cuttack district administration has cancelled the Balighat lease of Bijay Pal, another associate of the Dhalasamant brothers.
